Preventing Migraines with Chiropractic

Preventing Migraines with Chiropractic

With the Migraine Research Foundation reporting that migraine headaches affect 38 million adults and children in the U.S. (more than asthma and diabetes put together), it's not surprising that Dr. Berklich treats a lot of headache sufferers in our Alpharetta office. Eventhough some people choose to relieve migraine pain with medications, chiropractic care is a wonderful, all-natural choice that usually produces positive results.

Research Proves Chiropractic Care Helps With Migraines

For instance, one study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics involved 127 people ranging in age from 10 to 70-years-old who suffered with regular (at least monthly) headaches. Each subject received up to 16 chiropractic sessions. The patients noted that their headache frequency, duration, and disability two months before the treatments began, during the duration of the sessions (which was two months), and two months post-treatment.

What the researchers discovered is that chiropractic reduced the frequency, duration, and disability of the migraine headaches when compared with the control group who didn't receive chiropractic. In addition, this allowed them to take less medication for the pain, offering them an all-natural solution for a chronic problem.

Another article found that a combination of chiropractic and neck massage reduced migraine pain almost 68%.

Chiropractic is a bit rebellious in spirit. However, we believe people should feel good, perform well, and know how to stay that way so that each of us has the opportunity to provide for our families and have the ability to contribute to a better, more sustainable future for all of us.
